John Doe Orange is a natural orange wine from Emilia-Romagna, Italy, made from 100% Malvasia di Candia Aromatica grapes. Produced by Marco and Antonella at their organic winery in Castelfranco Emilia, Modena, the wine comes from clay and sandy soils in the fertile Po Valley. Hand-harvested grapes undergo three weeks of skin maceration in stainless steel tanks with spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfites, following strict organic and biodynamic farming practices since the 1980s.
Tasting notes:
Golden-orange color with natural cloudiness. Nose displays vibrant tropical fruits, red apple, citrus, and juicy peach aromatics. Palate offers textured mouthfeel with orange peel, ripe citrus, caramel notes, and subtle tannins. Long, rich mineral finish with refreshing acidity.
