Domaine Finot, situated in Afton, Virginia, is the passion project of French-born winemaker Matthieu Finot. After arriving in the U.S. in 2003, Matthieu partnered with fellow Frenchman Gilbert Tallard, who had established Turk Mountain Vineyards. Since 2016, Matthieu has managed the vineyard, embracing sustainable practices and minimalist winemaking techniques. His approach includes whole-cluster fermentation, native yeasts, and no added sulfur. The wines are some of the finest and most pure we’ve been privileged to taste from Virginia.
