One of our favorite producers in all of France! Domaine du Pech is a biodynamic winery and farm in Buzet (Southwestern France not far from Bordeaux) run by Ludovic Bonnelle and Magali Tissot (cousin of Jura winemakers Stephane and Benedicte Tissot). They use no chemical inputs in the vines and do all the work by hand. At harvest, they work with a highly skilled picking team that has worked there for decades in order to pick the very best fruit for the wines. Wines are fermented with native yeast and matured in very old and large oak tanks and barrels. No fining or filtration occurs and sulfites are used sparingly and only in vintages that demand them. Despite the hands off approach (or perhaps because of it) these wines have incredible aging potential and are often only released after several years in bottle. While the wines that we are currently selling from Domaine du Pech are well within their drinking window, we encourage lovers of these wines to cellar these for decades to come. Incredible, age worthy wines at unbelievably good prices.
