The fragrant atoumo flower grows in gardens throughout the Caribbean, used as a remedy for just about any ailment (atoumo derives from “à tous maux,” meaning roughly “all evils” or “all maladies”); in the case of these bitters, the flowers are plucked directly from the lush Rhum J.M estate. Combined with June plums (a tropical tree fruit with a sweet tart flavor reminiscent of pineapple and mango) and other bright botanicals, Fleur d’Atoumo Bitters expand upon local medicinal flavors by contributing to drinks a delicate bitterness and tang while evoking the stunning flora of Martinique.
